PPRAC Stories: Kelly

Ride Day 2: Kelly

Pretty girl, young but not the youngest person on the ride, she was a rock-solid rider with a core of iron... This was her second PPRAC ride, and I'd heard that she'd had some rough events in her life in the two intervening years ( this article talks about her brother and why she's participating), but when she got up one day after dinner and started talking about her big brother, how he stuck up for her when they were kids and how he'd passed away, only ten weeks before the ride, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Very pretty girl.......and her story is enough to touch anyone's heart. She has a look of determination on her face in this picture.

Back in my racing days we'd have called that a pretty good race face, "potent and secretly stern," as the song goes...
