Oh God, Don! I just talked to Doug and am in a state of total disbelief. My heart is so heavy and the tears won't stop. I'm so very sorry and so very sad...for Brian and for his family and his many, many friends.

My wife worked with Brian, and I met him a few times- enough to be honored to consider him a friend.

I also ride a lot & Brian and I had talked about getting together this summer so I could show him my local trails, and visa versa.

I started a thread on my local-ish board where people can also talk about what a great person Brian was, and especially post stories about him & riding as well. Please check it out!

We are devastated here in Hillsborough. He was my son's teacher, cross country coach, fellow Met fan in a school full of Yankee fans, and so much more. He made such an impact on my son and our family, I can't even put it into words... What a fine man he was. We feel very lucky to have known him - he made a profound impact on my son and will never be forgotten.

Thank you for sharing your photo's. My son was a student of Mr. Hahl's. He said many times over this past year what a great teacher Mr. Hahl was and that he was really happy to be in his pod. Tonight, he has been talking in bits and pieces about what great memories he had of this man and trying to understand why this could happen.

There are few people who could leave such an impact on so many peoples lives. I believe Mr. Hahl is one of those few. He was and will remain a mentor to many children that past through the doors of HMS.
I know my son, Garrett, will never forget him and the 7C class trips, especially the drag racing trip!

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many many friends.
